About the Evening
Allow me to introduce you to two incredible young talents of Burgundy; Yvon Clerget and Camille & Guillaume Boillot. This August, I will be hosting an intimate wine dinner at Vue de Monde exploring the delights of Burgundy through the wines of these two producers.
The evening will begin with a decadent glass of Champagne Pierre Paillard 'La Grande Récolte' 2012 as you enter the room with the Melbourne skyline spread out in front of you. As you take in this view the first flight of wines will be poured ready for you to take a seat and journey to Burgundy. With your entree you will enjoy a glass of Camille & Guillaume Boillot's Bourgogne Chardonnay and Meursault "Les Clous", both representing the first steps the couple has taken as their own domaine and out of the spotlight of family tradition.
Moving to the second flight, a glass of Puligny-Montrachet "Les Enseigneres" will be poured alongside a Meursault Premier Cru "Blagny". Diving into the world of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet has never tasted so good and I am proud to show off these finessed cuvees from this new domaine.
The Main course will welcome the Pinot Noirs of Yvon Clerget, a young talent I have adored watching flourish over the past decade into a champion of the region. To accompany this course I will be pouring his Volnay Premier Crus of "Carelle Sous la Chapelle" and "Clos du Verseuil” for you to savour.
For the Pièce de Résistance, this fourth flight will be a phenomenal three wine line up with the Volnay 1er cru "Les Caillerets", Pommard 1er cru "Les Rugiens" and Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. This powerhouse trio highlights the calibre all Côte d'Or red wines should be achieving, Yvon Clerget has truly excelled in his art and formed a strong collection for us to enjoy this evening.
Just as it begins to wind down, a glass of L'Abricot du Roulot will serve as a lovely digestif, crafted by Jean-Marc Roulot himself it is a delightfully sweet conclusion to the evening. Please book a seat before they sell out, only 12 seats are available this August.
