An exquisitely detailed map of the Montrachet Grand Cru vineyard located across the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. The Montrachet is an iconic wine, considered as the most expensive dry white in the world. With this map you’ll discover who owns the various plots within this diminutive yet mighty, 7.8 hectare “climat”. The underlying rocks forming the soil of the Montrachet herald from the Jurassic Era, 175 million years ago. The sun exposure lies to the east and the south. The altitude is 250-270 metres. The soils are rather thin and lie on hard limestone traversed by a band of reddish marl.
