Why should the red wines have all the fun in winter? We find a nice glass of Chardonnay or Chenin Blanc warms the soul just as much as a Bordeaux or Rhone.

DOMAINE 47N3E - PETIT CHABLIS 2023

Here is a volume of aroma – freshness of yellow citrus and good depth too. Soft, cushioned starting but behind is a beautifully shaped wine – slowly mouth-watering – deliciously finishing. DOMAINE DES ARDOISIERES - ARGILE WHITE 2024

The "Argile Blanc" showcases an abundance of alpine tension with smoky notes on the nose, very frank, pure and at ease on the palate. A refreshing flavour of white flowers, orchard fruits and green almonds, with a touch of smokiness. The palate contains crystalline purity, showing white peach and nectarine fruits, grapefruit and lemon peel acidity, and a crushed stone finish. You can drink it now with a decant, or cellar it 2028+. 40% Jacquère, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Mondeuse Blanche

DOMAINE ROUGEOT - BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY 'MONATINE' 2023

A fuller, richer, nose – plenty of ripe yellow citrus – but fresh too. Extra mouth-filling and much more generous in style – I prefer the last but here’s a great full-flavoured wine! Burgundy Report, 2022 review. 100% Chardonnay.

SAMUEL BILLAUD - BOURGOGNE D'OR 2022

The 2022 Bourgogne d'Or, a blend between Mâcon Nord and Auxerrois, has a fragrant nose with hints of melted butter and yellow flowers and a touch of vanilla pod in the background. The palate is well-balanced with a pleasant "bite" on the entry, fresh and tangy, with a hint of marmalade on the finish. Neal Martin, Vinous. 100% Chardonnay.

DOMAINE DE BEL AIR - BEAUJOLAIS WHITE 2024

Apricots, peaches and pears on the nose, as well as crushed stones. It’s soft, creamy and full-bodied with lovely drinkability. Drink now. 90pts - James Suckling. 100% Chardonnay.

DOMAINE AUSTRAL - OCTOPUS WHITE VDF 2023

Very good success for this chenin bursting with purity and great digestibility. A remarkable balance between roundness and straightness induced by a nice final bitterness! 100% Chenin Blanc.

CHATEAU GRAND VILLAGE WHITE 2024

The 2024 Grand Village Blanc was picked from September 5 to 11. This has a vivacious bouquet with lime flower, honeysuckle and light wild peach notes that are beautifully defined. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a lightly spiced opening. It is delineated with just a dab of orange rind on the finish. The 2024 is irresistible. 90-92 points - Neal Martin, Vinous.

This is a wild GV with so much sliced lemon, green apple and lime, as well as hints of flint. Mussel shells, too. Medium-bodied, tangy and vivid. 92-94 points - James Suckling. 78% Sauvignon Blanc 22% Semillon

DOMAINE DU BOUCHOT - POUILLY-FUME 'MCMLV' 2020

This wine shows lots of thiol-related flavours: tropical fruit, gooseberry as well as a hint of green. It is wine with lots of texture, a sense of roundness and completeness with a sense of satisfying grip that clasps the palate on the finish. There's lovely acidity, but it's nicely balanced. 93 points, Rebecca Gibb - Vinous. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

DOMAINE DUPRAZ - 'MONTRACUL' APREMONT 2023

Light straw colour, almost opaque. Shy nose, opening on beautiful subtle pear notes, spicy, dried fruits, lively, and full of a honeyed character. Palate is pure and saline, medium bodied, vivacious with cold mineral. Ending on a gentle finish. 100% Jacquère

DOMAINE GAVOTY - CLARENDON WHITE 2021

The Rolle retains a beautiful pale colour with a green reflection; the nose of fruits (pear and pineapple) is joined by notes of white flowers and a touch of honey. Its finish is lively and asks to be rounded off on a still timid structure. Prospect of evolution over 10 years. It will take a good two years for it to take on its more mineral and more complex appearance. 100% Rolle

PHILIPPE ALLIET - CHINON WHITE 2023

Lemon, honey and hay on the nose of this creamy and layered white. Apricots and peaches, too. It’s full bodied, bright and dry, but with delicious honeycomb notes. 2,000 bottles made. Drink now. 91 points, James Suckling. 100% Chenin Blanc.

ROUGEOT-DUPIN - BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY 2021

The wine has a subtle nose of white stone fruit, fresh hazelnut, almond and hint of butter. It’s perfect to open when it’s young, in its first one to four years. 100% Chenin Blanc.
