Domaine Gauby - Calcinaires white 2023
Nose with notes of grapefruits, plum, orange blossom and honeysuckle. The palate has big volume with sumptuous texture and a refreshing and lingering finish. The first white of the Gauby family, incredible value for money. 50% Grenache Blanc, 20% Macabeu, 30% Chardonnay.
Domaine Du Bouchot - Pouilly-Fume "Caillottes" 2022
Ripe citrus fruit, dried apricot and floral character, enriched by a dense layer of smooth minerals on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied with great poise and balance, creating an intense yet at the same time relaxed mouthfeel and a long finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Classy. Drink now. 93 pts, James Suckling. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Domaine Rougeot - Bourgogne Chardonnay "La Monatine" nature 2022
Near Sous la Velle. A fuller, richer, nose – plenty of ripe yellow citrus – but fresh too. Extra mouth-filling and much more generous in style – I prefer the last but here’s a great full-flavoured wine! Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report. 100% Chardonnay.
Domaine 47N3E - Chablis "Cairn" 2022
Confidentially, the Chablis Cairn releases beautiful engaging floral notes, accompanied by delicate fruit. Well-balanced in terms of structure, it maintains a nice tension, minerality, and a very pleasant persistence. 100% Chardonnay.
Philippe Alliet - Chinon white 2022
Made from one-hectare parcel on clay and limestone, it is a totally dry style of white Chinon. There's a sense of silkiness on the midpalate despite no malolactic fermentation. The aromas are akin to citrus, tangy apple and pear with a delicate savoury character in the background. It is gently textural, giving a sense of licking your cheeks while racy acid provides line and freshness. The high level of concentration reflects the low yields. One of the best Chinon whites on offer. 90 pts, Rebecca Gibb, Vinous. (2021 review). 100% Chenin Blanc.
Domaine Belargus - Anjou "Ronceray" 2022
The 2022 Ronceray is derived from vines planted on the Quarts-de-Chaume appellation but vinified as dry white wine. It reveals a complex, deep bouquet with aromas of almonds, white flowers, orchard fruits and white pepper combined with a reductive character. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and satiny, it has a deep core of fruit that segues into a tense, gently austere finish. It's matured in foudres and 500-liter barrels. 90-92 points - Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate. 100% Chenin Blanc.
Domaine de Cassiopee - Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Beaune white "Les Cotes" 2023
A more vertical nose, vibrancy, accented by some barrel for this. Cushioned, lovely width and energy, the last flavours show more of the creamy barrel. Yum… Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report. 100% Chardonnay.
Domaine Tessier - Bourgogne Chardonnay 'Champ Perrier' 2023
Distinctly golden colour with slight silver reflections. Refined aroma of pears, plums, almonds and freshly churned butter is in perfect balance with the taste of the wine. In the mouth it is very fresh, round and silky, with a varied palate of flavours and pronounced minerality. The finish of this refined and complex wine is very long. 100% Chardonnay.
Austral - Saumur White "Amandiers" 2021
A superb tense and slender Chenin, with lemony, floral aromas and crazy energy. Both fine and very strong, it is one of those chenins carried by a beautiful salivating acidity which gives them a very long finish. A gastronomic wine capable of withstanding long years of cellaring. 100% Chenin Blanc.
Chateau Grand Village White 2024
The 2024 Grand Village Blanc was picked from September 5 to 11. This has a vivacious bouquet with lime flower, honeysuckle and light wild peach notes that are beautifully defined. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a lightly spiced opening. It is delineated with just a dab of orange rind on the finish. The 2024 is irresistible. 90-92 points - Neal Martin, Vinous. 78% Sauvignon Blanc, 22% Semillon
Domaine Sparr - Riesling Grand Cru "Brand" 2020
Such an elegant wine for this Grand Cru that tends towards aromatic richness, the pineapple and basil notes very delicate on the nose. On the medium-to full-bodied palate there’s more succulence, but even there the crushed-stone minerality keeps everything very cool and straight. Very long, focused finish with so great vitality and very fine tannins. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. 95 points, James Suckling. 100% Riesling.
Tabordet - Pouilly-Fume "Calcis" 2021
A barrel-fermented Pouilly-Fumé with good fruit concentration, characteristic flinty notes and a subtle touch of vanilla. The textured palate is beautifully balanced and has a lovely mineral freshness on the long, persistent finish. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
