White Wine Premium Collection
DOMAINE 47°N3°E - PETIT CHABLIS 2022
This Petit Chablis is the expression of a mosaic or terroirs. The clay-limestone and white marl soils offer it a mineral and chiselled breadth. 100% Chardonnay.
ROUGEOT-DUPIN - MONTAGNY 1ER CRU 2021
The first nose is powerful with notes of brioche, fresh oak, and vanilla. The underlying white peach and citrus notes are refreshing a beautifully rich and comforting wine. On the palate, the medium bodied Montagny 1er cru is showcasing its pedigree with ease. It’s a long and rich finish, with enough minerality to bring a tasty finesse. Drink now or cellar up to 2027+. 100% Chardonnay.
JEAN-LUC JAMET - COTE DU RHONE "COUZOU" 2019
Still in wood (one-third) and tank (two-thirds) at the time of my visit, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone Blanc is a blend of 60% Marsanne and 20% each Roussanne and Viognier. It's full-bodied and rich, with notes of stone fruit, ripe melon and pineapple, plus hints of white pepper on the finish. Drink it young. 88-90 points - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate.
DOMAINE SPARR - RIESLING "ALTENBOURG" 2020
Deep and concentrated, with ample stone and citrus aromas, the mirabelle aroma as intense as that of Amalfi lemon. Quite an austere style, but with all this ripeness to balance the firm structure that’s no problem. Intense herbal and chalky character at the very focused finish. Still very young, this should develop magnificently with a bit more bottle age. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. 93 points, James Suckling.
DOMAINE GAVOTY - CLARENDON WHITE 2021
The Rolle retains a beautiful pale colour with a green reflection; the nose of fruits (pear and pineapple) is joined by notes of white flowers and a touch of honey. Its finish is lively and asks to be rounded off on a still timid structure. Prospect of evolution over 10 years. It will take a good two years for it to take on its more mineral and more complex appearance. 100% Rolle.
DOMAINE LE BOUCHOT - POUILLY-FUME "TERRES BLANCHES" 2021
The 2020 Pouilly-Fume Terres Blanches was bottled a week before tasting, so it might need to be revisited to give it a fair shot, but even at this early stage, this mid-weight style is clearly balanced with masses of refreshment. Partial malo has lent additional softness to the palate, which is reminiscent of pear fruit and a whiff of white pepper. Excellent structural tension on the finish. This is one to watch. 91-93 points, Rebecca Gibb - Vinous. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
