Domaine L'Austral - Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame "Les Vigneaux" Rouge 2018

In the heart of Puy-Notre-Dame, Saumur, L’Austral has brought a new perspective with Australian influence to Loire Valley wines. The vines of the Amandiers parcel were planted in 1990. In 2016, the chance to start their own domaine occured through the lovely Françoise & Philippe Gourdon of Château Tour Grise, who allowed them to lease out and take over 4 ha of vines that have been grown biodynamically for 20 years. The Les Vigneaux parcel from which these grapes are picked has vines planted in 1975.

2018 is the last named cuvee Vigneaux, with a nice warm vintage to suit this terroir perfectly. Very pure nose on red fruits, spices and beautiful and subtle vegetal notes. In the mouth, you will have a wine with a beautiful structure built on ultra fine tannins. Harmony in expression for this full and vibrant wine! Cabernet Franc.
