We have the exquisite, small production liqueur by Jean-Marc Roulot. Jean-Marc Roulot's benchmark wines are unquestionably brilliant, but his Eaux de Vie and liqueurs are equally compelling. We have the Pear Eau de Vie available in stock at the moment, a layered, small-batch offering that combines finesse, power and fruit purity. It is a brilliant digestif to have on hand – perfect for rounding out a special occasion meal.
The Roulot family holds a long history of crafting these exquisite offerings. Guy Roulot, Jean-Marc's father, was always intrigued by the idea of distilling fruits other than grapes and so began a tradition of making remarkable and acclaimed “eaux de vie". Using local fruits such as pear, Guy Roulot was granted distilling permits in 1879.
We're thrilled that Jean-Marc has continued the tradition whilst enabling improvements via considered evolution. All fruit is sourced from prime parcels and is handled, and ultimately infused, with a deft hand. What you end up experiencing is a powerful spirit made with the same attention to detail as some of the best wines in the entire Côte d'Or.
"...I wanted to develop this activity by extending the distillation to fruit brandies and return to a work that my father, Guy Roulot, had experimented with long before me. His pear brandy was particularly well known and appreciated by a small circle of initiates who nicknamed it "La Poire du Roulot"." - Jean-Marc Roulot

PEAR EAU DE VIE (500ml)
Here, Williams pears are sourced at Orches in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Burgundy. These are among the tastiest pears in France. On the nose, the purity of the pear brims with lifted aromatics and a striking balance. You’ll find the essence of what a Williams pear is contained in this Eau de Vie made by Jean-Marc's deft hand. It can be served by itself, slightly chilled to start in a big balloon glass. It can also accompany the final course, paired with blue cheese or desserts such as Tarte Tatin. 45% by vol – 500ml.
