I bring to you today a very special library release of the 2017 and 2018 Côte-Rôtie "Les Terrasses" alongside the 2019 vintage. The 2019 season was hot but took advantage of the rains in August which reinvigorated the vines and preserved the fruit's acidity perfectly. To match up to this stunning year I have brought the two prior vintages to enjoy a vertical selection of Northern Rhone. A triage of hot years, 2017, 2018, and 2019 all have unique qualities that Jean-Luc has drawn from these perfectly ripened Syrah grapes.

Alongside the ripe and supple Côte-Rôtie I am truly honoured to also be bringing to you today the 2021 Côte du Rhone "Enclave" by Jean-Luc Jamet. He truly triumphed in spite of the difficult 2021 vintage and produced a stunning Syrah that captures the essence of the Rhone Valley in just a few bottles.
As the chief viticulturist in the family, Jean-Luc understands that a great wine starts at the roots. He has spent his years understanding and working with the terroir to bring out nuances in his wines that can not be replicated in the vinification. Like others, I was shocked about the split of Domaine Jamet, but as Jean-Luc has come into his own it is clear that he, along with his children, are making waves in the Rhone Valley and don't have plans on slowing down.
Not to remain a one-man show, in more recent vintages, Benoit Jamet has joined his father both in the cellar and the vines to learn the trade and develop a palate for the Jean-Luc Jamet signature. Surrounded by great winemakers with Jean-Luc's brother just next door, passion for creating top tier syrahs of France are a hallmark of this family and the additional hands allow the passion to shine through in these latest vintages.
