Tasting Notes

The Coteaux Bourguignons is very juicy and jammy in a good way.

Edouard Confuron hails from the 6 generation family Domaine, Confuron-Gindre, located on Rue de La Tâche. While working with his father, François Confuron-Gindre, he has slowly – and successfully, created his own distinct style of wines now presented through his own micro-domaine. The 2021 vintage is the first formal representation of Edouard's personal range of wines. He handpicks grapes from a selection of his father's plots across Vosne-Romanee, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Nuits St Georges. The Coteaux Bourguignon hails from a few plots, located at several different locations throughout Nuits-St-Georges and Vosne-Romanée.

Half each pinot and gamay. Fresh ruby purple. Some pyrazines on the nose, which subside with aeration. Pinot takes the lead on the palate, then some savoury gamay comes up behind, with good length. Drink from 2027-2028. Tasted Nov 2025. Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.

(from a 70/30 gamay-pinot blend). Cool aromas include those of various red berries, earth, pepper and a pretty floral top note. There is fine density for the vintage to the delicious and succulent middle weight flavors that conclude in a lightly austere and rustic finale To enjoy on the younger side. Allen Meadows, Burghound.

66% Pinot Noir, 33% Gamay.
