Domaine Yvon Clerget - Bourgogne Chardonnay 2024

Thibaud Clerget took over the family Domaine in 2015, one of the oldest family owned Domaine in the village. Thibaud initiates the rebirth of one of Volnay’s little treasure of a Domaine. Only 6 hectares of vineyards located within the best climats* of Burgundy. The Bourgogne Chardonnay is made with several vineyards located in Meursault.

The 2024 Bourgogne Blanc, the last wine that I tasted during my October/November marathon of tastings, has an attractive honeyed bouquet that displays impressive intensity. The palate is well balanced with plenty of stuffing for a regional white, attractive waxy texture with good extract on the finish. Drink over the next four or five years.
