Domaine Pernot Père & Fils - Vosne-Romanee "Aux Reas" 2024
Taking over the family Domaine in 2018, Pascal Pernot quickly gained respect and admiration as a top Gevrey-Chambertin producer. Pascal’s great grandfather was chauffeur to the Liégard family of the Château de Brochon and subsequently inherited some vineyards (including the holding in La Croix Violette). The Domaine was established in 1900, with Pascal as the fourth generation, and surrounds the village of Brochon with a total of 7 ha.
This holding of Aux Réas is on a steep slope, a learning curve for Pascal! Another bright ruby purple. A touch of oak on the nose, destemmed, with a real sense of Vosne on the nose. One new barrel in four. The fruit flows very well across the palate, juicy dark strawberry, just enough acidity, refined tannins, a successful debut. Drink from 2029-2034. 90-92 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.
