Pierre Girardin - Meursault 2022
Pierre-Vincent Girardin is a 13th generation Burgundian winemaker who grew up among the vines in his father’s Domaine. Starting his own label with the family holdings of Les Folatières in Puligny-Montrachet at the age of 21, he has become a formidable force among young winemakers in Burgundy. Expanding beyond the 4.5 hectares, his family contacts brought him access to top growers in Puligny Folatières, Volnay Clos des Chênes, Pommard Epenots, Corton-Charlemagne.
100% Chardonnay, from organically grown vines from 3 lieux-dits: “Casse-Têtes”, “Sous la Velle” and “la Barre Dessus”. These are some of the top village sites sitting on marl, clay and limestone soils. Vinified as whole clusters, fermented and aged in 456L barrels (50% new) for 11 months + 5 months in stainless steel, unfined and unfiltered. Blending of micro cuvées of Meursault. Gold and green colour, mineral (gunflint), fresh and lemon on the palate. Drink now or age for 5-10 years.
100% Chardonnay.
