Lacoste-Borie - Pauillac 2019
The second vin of Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a stunning representation of the Pauillac region. As a family owned Chateau, the Borie family has owned the property since 1978, with François-Xavier Borie restoring it to greatness and preserving its spirit.
Grand-Puy-Lacoste is situated in the terroir of Pauillac, one of the Médoc's six communal appellations along the Gironde estuary's left bank. The estate comprises of 90 hectares, 58 planted with vines, that are entirely located around the Château. Today the balance between young and old vines is fully established at an average age of 38 years.
The 2019 Lacoste-Borie is a wine of immense charm. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis, liquorice and sweet spices, loamy soil and cigar wrapper, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and seamless, with ripe tannins, succulent acids and a round, giving profile. 90 points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
