Domaine de Cassiopée - Maranges Rouge "Saugeot" 2023

Brand new estate in the heart of Sampigny-les-Maranges in 2020, Domaine de Cassiopée is run by Talloulah and Hugo Mathurin who are working hard to make a mark on this under the radar appellation. Domaine de Cassiopée sits on the eastern end within close proximity to the premier cru vineyards. Had this parcel since 2021. Supposed to be the coolest of their Maranges plots – never more than 12.5°.

Despite Hugo’s modest introduction, this has a pretty nose. Over the palate this is mouth-filling and full of fresh energy – a small austerity vs the others but with a small hit of minerality and salinity too – I like ! Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report.100% Pinot Noir.
