Champagne Dehours - Millésime 2015
The Millesime is rich with tropical overtones and ripe fruit.
The Domaine predominantly produces Meunier in addition to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Pinot Meunier varietal is best suited to this cooler area of Champagne and is a favourite of the Marne Valley. Dehours Champagnes are eagerly sought by champagne enthusiasts for their renowned “Meunier style;” bold, flavourful and showing a clear terroir-orientated approach.
Since 2013, the Dehours estate has offered a vintage cuvée each year, a blend of a selection of the best wines. The plots and grape varieties that are used in its composition vary every year, reflecting the particularity of each vintage. All the grapes come from the estate, and are grown according to HVE standards, favouring tillage and grassing of the plots. The berries harvested when ripe and carefully sorted are pressed directly and the juices ferment with “house” yeasts, before bottling without clarification or fining.
The 2015 Extra-Brut Millesime is another fabulous wine from Dehours. Rich with tropical overtones and ripe fruit, the 2015 is wild and exotic from the first taste. More importantly, it avoids the awkward notes that afflict so many wines in this vintage. The 2015 is rich and intense but also wonderfully light on its feet. 95 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous. 50% Meunier, 50% Chardonnay
