Mount Mary - Reflexion "Cabernets" 2023

Réflexion wines are made entirely from Mount Mary estate grown fruit, primarily from the youngest plantings. The fruit grown on these vines is still developing towards the quality and consistency demanded for Mount Mary Vineyard estate wines. From time to time, depending on the vintage, the Winery will release limited quantities of red and white wines under the Réflexion label. Each bottle in Réflexion range reflects a sense of place and time.

“A kind of ‘baby Quintet’ is the gist. Ready to drink, also the idea. Per se. From a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. Magnificent perfume, blue fruits, lavender, dried Italianate herbs, new leather, white pepper and choc mint. More of the same to taste with an attractive puddle of plum compote, dried fig and juicy, black cherry in the mix. Sloshes around the palate with visceral pleasure, a looser knit red with lusty flavour and yet a coolness underlying. Big glasses, fire side and getting lost in something else, but the wine as a backdrop. I can see it now." - Mike Bennie.
