Pierre Girardin - Meursault "Vireuils" 2022

Pierre-Vincent Girardin is a 13th generation Burgundian winemaker who grew up among the vines in his father’s Domaine. Starting his own label with the family holdings of Les Folatières in Puligny-Montrachet at the age of 21, he has become a formidable force among young winemakers in Burgundy. Expanding beyond the 4.5 hectares, his family contacts brought him access to top growers in Puligny Folatières, Volnay Clos des Chênes, Pommard Epenots, Corton-Charlemagne. 

From plots in the village of Meursault, on top of the hill, near Auxey Duresses (“Les Vireuils Dessus »). The vines sit on marl and limestone soil. Vinified as whole cluster,  10 months in 456l oak barrels (70% new), 6 months in steel tank. This is a fine and powerful wine, a pure juice with a long lemon finish. Drink now or age up to 8 years.
