Pierre Girardin - Meursault "Limozin" 2022
Pierre-Vincent Girardin is a 13th generation Burgundian winemaker who grew up among the vines in his father’s Domaine. Starting his own label with the family holdings of Les Folatières in Puligny-Montrachet at the age of 21, he has become a formidable force among young winemakers in Burgundy. Expanding beyond the 4.5 hectares, his family contacts brought him access to top growers in Puligny Folatières, Volnay Clos des Chênes, Pommard Epenots, Corton-Charlemagne.
Meursault ‘Limozin’ comes from one of the top plots in Meursault, sitting just below Premier Cru ‘Les Genevrières’, next to ‘Les Charmes’. On clay and some limestone, these grapes bloom and are vinified as whole clusters for 11 months in oak barrels (50% new) and 6 months in steel tanks. Notes of lemon zest, vivid and chiselled, saline and fresh wine, bitterness at the end of the mouth. Drink now or age up to 6 years.
100% Chardonnay.
