Champagne Dehours - Les Vignes de la Vallées Brut NV
The "Vignes de la Vallée" is full of energy, vibrant and mineral.
Dehours Champagnes are eagerly sought after by champagne enthusiasts for their renowned 'Meunier style'; bold, flavourful and demonstrating a clear terroir-orientated approach.
Upon tasting, you’ll understand how the characteristics of the Pinot Meunier grape have become inextricably linked to the identity of this iconic vineyard. The “Vignes de la Vallée” cuvée is made mostly with Pinot Meunier and blended with a high proportion of reserve wine from the perpetual reserve, started in 1998. Unlike the “Grande Réserve” the “Vignes de la Vallée” is matured in bottle for an extensive time of 42 to 54 months before being released. It can be paired with pasta cooked with parmigiano regiano, foie gras, Jabugo ham and matured cheese such as Comté. Drink now – Brut - Dosage 2.3g/l.
The NV Brut Vignes de la Vallee is deep, resonant and super-expressive. Reserve wines in this blend (30%) add notable complexity as well as depth. Lemon confit, hazelnut, dried flowers, earthiness, mint and tangerine oil all grace this wonderfully fleshy, resonant Meunier-based NV offering from Dehours. 92 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
- What we say
- Technical notes
"Les Vignes de la Vallée is showcasing the terroir of the Marne Valley and its favourite varietal Pinot Meunier to perfection. The extra maturation in bottle brings an indeniable focus and liveliness."
Jérome Dehours advocates for richer champagne styles which are also lively and vibrant. To do so, he began a perpetual reserve of wine in 1998 to best capture the terroir identity of his Domaine without vintage influences. The wines are fermented and mature for eight months in French oak barrels to soften and enrich the otherwise sharp wines. Malolactic fermentation is also made in barrels to emphasise the natural balance of the wines.
