Domaine de Vaccelli | New Vintage

Our inaugural shipment of Domaine de Vaccelli last year was an absolute sensation, thus it brings me great pleasure to bring you more of the Corsican wines you love. To obtain as much of these low allocation wines as we could, I found the best solution was to bring you more of their range. This shipment is therefore offering five new wines from Domaine de Vaccelli in Cognocoli-Monticchi, Corsica, and I feel honoured to share with you more wines from the Courrèges family. This fantastic expanded range will allow you to experience more wines from across the Ligurian Sea, off mainland France.

In 1974, Alain, son of Roger, took the helm and decided to replant the vineyards to native Corsican grape varietals, namely Sciaccarellu and Vermentinu. While Alain was self taught, his son, Gérard was formally trained, studying oenology in Nîmes and training at Clos Capitoro (Ajaccio). In 2000, Gérard returned to the domaine taking over as winemaker thereby continuing the family tradition begun by his grandfather. Nowadays, Nathalie and Gérard Courrèges, brother and sister, are the heads of Domaine de Vaccelli,

The modernised Corsican viticulture at Domaine de Vaccelli and its typical Corsican grape varieties are the pillars of the Ajaccio appellation and terroir. They are determined to maintain their principles set in 2008 with a focus on manually harvesting and organic farming. The vineyard became certified organic in 2019.

The Courrèges family are creating distinct wines, expressing the “granit” terroir and showcasing floral and herbal notes recalls the maquis - the aromatic wild plants covering much of the island. Florals that Napoleon himself said could smell while in exile on the isle of Elba.

Elegant, complex, with light extraction and amazing texture, this range from Corsica will not disappoint, limited stock available so purchase yours today.
