Domaine des Ardoisières - Silice 2023
The "Silice" is plush and focused, driving you through white floral and preserved lemon aromas, before a rush of white peach, crushed stone and salty sea spray minerals.
Estates like Domaine des Ardoisières prove that Savoie can produce wines with as much quality as Burgundy or Jura. The Domaine was born from the replanting, in 1998, of the Cevins hillside: six hectares of mica schists along terraces between Albertville and Moutiers, undertaken by Michel Grisard. In 2003, to assist Grisard, Brice Omont, agricultural engineer from Champagne, invested in the project and now (since 2008) finds himself at the head of an Estate which now comprises 16 hectares. Biodynamic viticulture is championed here, the slope can reach a 70% incline, and the yields are very low.
Made from organic grapes selected by the team at the world-famous Domaine des Ardoisieres , the 2023 Silice has a bright yellow color in the glass, with green highlights. On the nose, this white wine is lively and bright, offering notes of citrus and green apple. On the palate, the wine continues to be refreshing and smooth, expressing subtle notes of white flowers and a stunning crystalline purity, with a bitter almond noticeable towards the finish. The 2023 Silice echoes its terraced vineyards with its bold, stony and mineral character. 100% Jacquère.
