Domaine Hudelot-Noellat - Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2022
This Pinot Noir has vibrant red berry flavours along with earthy aromas.
Domaine Hudelot-Noellat is an iconic producer in the Côte de Nuits. The style of the Domaine is defined by elegance and purity. This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is from vineyards located in ideal spots in the Côte de Nuits. It is a wine that always delivers and arguably outperforms certain village wines.
In bottle. A cherry to crimson colour. Fine, pleasing, stylish cherry fruit on the nose, cherry to raspberry on the palate, a little tannin to help the structure, but essentially on the fruit, pure and classy. Drink from 2025-2028. 89 points - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy. 100% Pinot Noir.
- What we say
- Technical notes
"This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is a must. Uniquely, it is both rare and great value. The 2021 vintage has been a great success for the Domaine."
Charles Van Canneyt, Alain Hudelot-Noellat’s grandson, took over the Domaine in 2008 and for the last few vintages he has been entirely in charge of making the wines and he does so incredibly well. The wines have never been as good as they are now. Charles has a very clear approach when making his wines concerning the style he wants to achieve- elegance and purity. In order to do this Charles is careful not to overpower the taste of the wine made from his prestigious vineyards, which are a tremendous asset. With an ideal location, old vines to very old vines and fine clones of Pinot Noir, the challenge is to give the natural expression of the grapes the strongest voice. Charles is only using natural yeast, fermenting the must in concrete vats and the maturation is long but with the right balance of oak used. The oak component rarely shows in the wines, only through subtle notes and aromas. This is a brilliant style of winemaking that champions the Pinot Noir varietal.
