We Love the Loire Valley | Explore the diversity...

Today, I am thrilled to dive deep into the captivating world of Loire Valley wines with you. Nestled in the heart of France, this picturesque region is renowned for producing some of the most exquisite and diverse wines in the world. With the relationships I have grown over the years with incredible producers across Saumur, Anjou, and Pouilly-Fume, Clos Cachet now have an acute selection of wines providing a window into Loire's heart and soul.

The Loire Valley is France’s 3rd largest winegrowing region. Stretching from the Atlantic coast to Auvergne, it is a point of equilibrium, where north meets south, sophistication meets freshness, art meets literature, and tradition meets modernity. These contrasts - plus the generally temperate climate and extraordinarily varied terroirs - have created the most diverse winegrowing region in the worldWhether you're a fan of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, or Gamay, you will find an abundance of exceptional wines from the Loire. From crisp and refreshing whites to elegant reds and delicate rosés, there is truly something for every palate.

Presented as an iconic location of France, the Loire Valley between Sully-sur-Loire and Chalonnes-sur-Loire is classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (since 2000). Noted for the quality of its architectural heritage, with historic towns and world-famous Châteaux, the Loire Valley is recognised as a site of special cultural interest. It has been a meeting point for an array of human values, and is testament to the development of a natural synergy between man and his environment across two thousand years of history.

Whether you are a seasoned wine connoisseur or just beginning your journey into oenology, exploring Loire Valley wines will undoubtedly leave you inspired. The dedication to quality craftsmanship combined with sustainable viticulture practices embraced by local winemakers ensures that each bottle tells a story worth savouring. As it stands today, majority of our Loire producers are carefully tending to their vines using organic principles, most officially certified.

I encourage you to take your time and discover all the different appellations the Loire Valley has to offer such as Pouilly-Fumé, Chinon, and Anjou, and allow yourself to be enchanted by the diversity and complexity of their wines.
