White Burgundy Village Trio For The Ages
- PIERRE-HENRI ROUGEOT - MEURSAULT "SOUS LA VELLE" 2018
"Pale yellow, a little coconut note on the nose but not excessive. The flavours start to build. There is a lot to this wine, with a touch of youthful bitterness. It is not the noblest of terroirs but Pierre-Henri Rougeot has fashioned something a little bit special here." 90-92 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
- DOMAINE JOSEPH COLIN - CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET 2018
"The Chassagne-Montrachet Village has an attractive bouquet of toffee apple, orange blossom and honeysuckle; it’s cohesive and nicely focused, if not as intense as many of the Saint-Aubins from Joseph Colin. The palate is well balanced and offers an irresistible rondeur in the mouth. A dash of white pepper percolates through the citrus fruit, gaining weight toward the limey finish, which leaves behind an understated yet deceptively persistent aftertaste. Very fine." 90pts – Neil Martin for Vinous.
- ALVINA PERNOT - PULIGNY-MONTRACHET "VIEILLES VIGNES" 2018
"Derived from old-vine parcels in some of the domaine Pernot’s prime lieux-dits, including the celebrated Les Enseignères. The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes wafts from the glass with aromas of fresh peach, ripe but crisp yellow orchard fruit, clear honey and blanched almonds. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and nicely defined, with succulent acids and a delicate core of fruit. This is a fine debut effort." Wine Advocate - Dr William Kelley – 90pts – Drink Date 2020-2033.
