  • BEL-AIR - BEAUJOLAIS-VILLAGES "GRANITS BLEUS" 2018 - $29

Domaine de Bel-Air, owned and operated by Jean-Marc Lafont is producing Beaujolais wines of great finesse. It is indeed Jean-Marc’s exemplary work in his very well-located vineyards that is the key to these magnificent wines. 

The Beaujolais-Villages is from a vineyard surrounding the Domaine on the hill of Bel-Air and a vineyard in the village of Quincié. The vines are on average 50 years old and add to the complexity of this wine. The bouquet draws out delicious flavours of blackcurrant, violet on the nose with a generous and driven mouth feel. It pairs well with charcuterie, quiche or is perfect by itself as an aperitif. This wine is ready to drink now or can be cellared up until 2023. 100%Gamay.

  • FABRICE DODANE - DOS D'CHAT "GRENACHE" 2017 - $46

The Jura region is one of France's smallest wine regions comprising just 2,500 hectares. Despite its size however, it has grown a steadfast reputation for the sheer quality of its wines. Fabrice Dodane, owner of Domaine de Saint Pierre is part of a small group of discerning producers, which includes Jean-Francois Ganevat, who push the boundaries, making stunning, profound and complex wines. 

This wine is a little project that Fabrice tried using Grenache fruit from the south of the Rhone, it is cold soak macerated for 30 days whole bunched then fermented in stainless steel with native Jura yeast and no sulphur added. This wine is spicy and structured on the bouquet there is heaps of bright red and blue fruit, bakers spice like star anise and cloves followed by a earthy undertone. The palate is juicy with the red and blue fruits showing through, spice following the mid palate and dusty tannin to finish. It can be drunk with charcuterie, roast chicken and pork and charcoaled rib eye. Drink now or keep up until 2026+. 100% Grenache.  Please decant for 25 minutes and serve in big Syrah  glasses.

  • PETIT-SAINT-VINCENT - SAUMUR-CHAMPIGNY 2018 - $38

In the small circle of elite producers in the heartland of Saumur-Champigny in Varrains, the lively, friendly and talented Dominique Joseph is impossible to miss. Fully organically farmed since 1992, the Domaine grows 12 hectares of vineyard perfectly located over 55 different locations.

The "Le Petit Saint Vincent" cuvée is from vineyards located on clay and limestone soils or yellow tuffeau with sandy influence. The tuffeau is a yellow limestone unique to Saumur-Champigny. On the nose fruity notes arise first with red fruit and it opens up to black fruits and light spice. The palate is charming, round and fruity. It can be enjoyed at a barbecue, with white meat and slightly chilled with cheese. Drink now. 100% Cabernet Franc.
