  • SAMUEL BILLAUD - CHABLIS 2018 - $59

Samuel Billaud is considered to be one of the select few outstanding producers in Chablis. Testament to this is Samuel’s ability to bring out the unique characteristics of each of his fantastic terroirs. His wines have a distinctive elegance, balance and complexity that is seldom achieved with such precision. The vineyards are on average 30 years of age and are located in the “Les Pargues”, “Le Chapelot” and "Les Cartes" climats.

The Chablis has a sophisticated array of flavours from fresh apple, oyster shell minerality, fresh almond, white peach, citrus flavours to notes of iodine. The palate is driven by a great acidity and a textural mid-palate. This is very fine indeed. It pairs well with natural oysters, seafood or is perfect by itself as an aperitif. You can drink this wine now by decanting it 15 minutes before serving or it may be cellared up until 2025+. 100% Chardonnay.

  • ALVINA PERNOT - BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY 2018 - $65

An exciting new arrival on the scene in the Côte de Beaune is Alvina Pernot, granddaughter of Paul Pernot of Domaine Paul Pernot and cousin of Philippe Pernot of Domaine Pernot Belicard. After working for three years at her grandfather's domaine, Alvina and her husband, Philippe Abadie, set up a tiny domaine & maison in Puligny-Montrachet. . In the debut 2018 vintage, none of these wines saw any new oak, and they matured on the lees until they were racked for bottling in used barrels. This Bourgogne is made up of two parcels of 50+ vine age from the village of Puligny-Montrachet and older vines.

The bouquet emerges with concentrated ripe fruit, peach and green apple followed by citrus and some wet stone notes. The palate is fresh and lively with the dense fruit shining through, fresh and long citrus acidity, finished with a clean minerality. It can be paired with raclette cheese, roast poultry, rich oysters, crayfish, scallops and white fish. You can drink it now by decanting it 30 minutes before serving or cellar it up until 2026+. 100% Chardonnay.

  • LE PETIT ST VINCENT - SAUMUR "PERRUCHETS" 2018 - $75

In the small circle of elite producers in the heartland of Saumur-Champigny in Varrains, the lively, friendly and talented Dominique Joseph is impossible to miss. Fully organically farmed since 1992, the Domaine grows 12 hectares of vineyard perfectly located over 55 different locations. The "Les Perruchets" is a single vineyard of 0.3 hectares, ideally located on heavy limestone soils with clay and rocks on top.

The bouquet is delicate, with notes of pear, almond skin, grapefruit and lemon rind. On the palate, it's a very lively wine built on a silky mineral structure. It can be drunk with spicy food, grilled trout or salmon, seafood and semi-firm cow cheeses. Drink now or keep in the cellar up to 2021+. 100% Chenin Blanc.

  • JEAN-LUC JAMET - COTE DU RHONE BLANC 2016 - $58

Jean-Luc Jamet is an iconic producer of the North Rhône Valley, home to the best Syrah the world has to offer. The Couzou cuvée of Côte du Rhône comes from within the Côte-Rôtie appellation in Bonnivières in the Côte Brune. The “Couzou” vineyard was planted early-mid 1980s  on 1 hectare with quite deep soils on Bonnivières & Champrond in Côte-Rôtie.

This wine has a beautiful shiny yellow colour to it; the bouquet opens nicely with pear and apricot with a thread of infused tea, clarity, dried fruits. There is a comfortable grasp on the attack of the palate displaying white fruits, saline moments appear towards the finish, as well as a touch of honey. The Viognier displays great character and leaves a good plumpness and textured structure with nice length. It can be paired with prawns, roast chicken, grilled barramundi. Drink now or keep in the cellar up to 2024+.60% Marsanne, 20% Roussanne, 20% Viognier.

  • BERNARD GRIPA - SAINT-PÉRAY "LES PINS" 2017 - $61

Domaine Bernard Gripa is producing as much white wine as it is red. This is unusual in a region where white wine production is scarce. Saint Péray is the southernmost appellation of the northern Rhône Valley. Part of the Domaine’s fine reputation comes from its top quality Saint Péray wines. The appellation is lesser known, but savvy wine connoisseurs are wise to its incredible value. “Les Pins” is made from old vines, more than 40 years old.

The bouquet has a vibrant flair displaying white stone fruit, hints of white floral and spice followed by stony minerality. The palate is lusty, with zippy citrus and beautiful rich nectarines, finished with spice and mineral driven mouth feel. It will accompany seafood perfectly, poultry, fresh salads and rich creamy dishes. Perfect to drink in its youth or age till 2023+ . 70% Marsanne, 30% Roussanne.

  • DOMAINE GAVOTY - ROLLE CUVÉE CLARENDON 2016 - $65

At Domaine Gavoty, the vineyards surround the winery on limestone soils. The Cuvée Clarendon is the top cuvée of the Domaine. The name pays tribute to Bernard Gavoty, the Domaine’s founder.

The Rolle Clarendon cuvée is made with a selection from the Domaine’s oldest vines. The Rolle is exclusively used in Provence. You will find a complex nose of pear and grapefruit, melted with a touch of honey and white flowers. The palate is structured, with the pear and floral notes coming forward, and a fresh and long finish. 100% Rolle.
