UNIQUE AND ESTABLISHED BORDEAUX
Château Lestage Darquier - Moulis en Medoc 2020
The 2020 Lestage-Darquier has a very pure bouquet of black cherry, blueberry, raspberry preserve and light rose petal scents. The fresh palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and subtle marine notes. Almost briny toward the finish, hwich just needs more length. Neal Martin. Drink now or cellar up until 2028+. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc.
Château la Fleur des Graves WHITE - Bordeaux Blanc 2020
The elegance of the wine soon manifests itself. The white/green color comes with exotic aromas of white flower, apricot, and peach. This is a velvety Sauvignon blanc that finishes long and full. Smooth, clean, elegant! 80% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Semillon, 5% Muscadelle.
Château Le Coteau - Margaux 2019
From the southwest reaches of the appellation, the 2019 Le Coteau is a juicy, plump Margaux that should drink well right out of the gate. Ripe dark cherry, red plum, tobacco, liquorice and incense all meld together. This is an especially juicy, fruity style. I especially admire the wine's balance. Antonio Galloni, Vinous. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22 %Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot.
Château Potensac - Medoc 2012
The 2012 Potensac surpassed my expectations from barrel, because as I stated back then, it has developed more flesh to counterbalance those prenatal hard tannins. It has an attractive if unspectacular raspberry, strawberry and tobacco-scented bouquet, quite closed at first, opaque, but opening with several minutes in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe blackberry fruit laced with tobacco and sea salt. I appreciate the finish here. There is satisfying substance, a gentle grip and a classic pencil lead, almost Pauillac-like finish. Enjoy over the next 10-12 years. 90pts, Neal Martin, Robert Parker. 48% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc.
