L'Abricot du Roulot is a powerful yet delicate liqueur (500ml).

The Roulot family has a long history making exquisite fruit Eaux de Vie and, more recently, fruit liqueur. They were granted distilling permits in 1879. Today, Jean-Marc Roulot continues the tradition whilst enabling evolution and improvements. The Bergeron apricots are sourced from Jean-Louis Chave’s orchard in Mauves, Rhône Valley. These are among the tastiest apricots in France.

On the nose, the apricot flavours shine through from fresh, primary fruit to more fleshy notes to the structure of the pip flavours. The nose is powerful and refined with a sophisticated fragrance. On the palate, the strength is appealing, showcasing the diverse aromas of the Bergeron apricot and finishes nicely and light footed.

It can be served by itself, chilled in a big balloon glass. It strikes a perfect balance with desserts such as Crêpes Suzette. 25% by vol – 500ml.

"I feel intimately linked to “L’Abricot du Roulot” growing up in Meursault and having the chance to source some in Beaune’s top restaurants. I love the versatility of it. It is a great start to the meal as a long drink and aperitif, and a great end of the meal on its own. If you decide to kick on, it will ease your evening nicely. The purity of fruit, melted in a generous sweetness and lifted strength catches nicely your tastebuds."

Jean-Marc Roulot buys the Bergeron apricots from star Rhône Valley producer Jean-Louis Chave in Mauves. These apricots are among the best in France and here, nurtured by Mr Chave; their quality is further pronounced. Once harvested at the right time with Jean-Marc’s eye for fruit ripeness, the apricots are pitted and infused for a month in a neutral spirit. When deemed ready, the liqueur is made at 25% by vol. with a sugar content of 180g/ litre.
