The palate is crisp and elegant shining with apple and lemon acidity with a creamy lively finish.Pair with oysters, shellfish, creamy pasta, soft cheese, roast pork. • DOMAINE SAMUEL BILLAUD – CHABLIS 2018 - $59

Samuel Billaud is considered to be one of the select few outstanding producers in Chablis. Testament to this is Samuel’s ability to bring out the unique characteristics of each of his fantastic terroirs. His wines have a distinctive elegance, balance and complexity that is seldom achieved with such precision. The vineyards are on average 30 years of age and are located in the “Les Pargues”, “Le Chapelot” and "Les Quarts" climats*.

The Chablis has a sophisticated array of flavours from fresh apple, oyster shell minerality, fresh almond, white peach, citrus flavours to notes of iodine. The palate is driven by a great acidity and a textural mid-palate. This is very fine indeed. It pairs well with natural oysters, seafood or is perfect by itself as an aperitif. You can drink this wine now by decanting it 15 minutes before serving or it may be cellared up until 2025+. 100% Chardonnay.

  • JEAN-LUC JAMET - CÔTE DU RHÔNE ROUGE "ENCLAVE" 2018 - $69

This Côte du Rhône Rouge is profound, dense yet fresh and precise. Jean-Luc Jamet is an iconic producer of the North Rhône Valley, home to the best Syrah the world has to offer. The "Enclave" cuvée of Côte du Rhône comes from within Côte-Rôtie appellation in Bonnivières in the Côte Brune.

The colour is deep red and purple. The nose is very present, floating aromas of violets, soaked black cherries, flint, smoke and a lovely savouriness all throughout. The palate is tender though driven and structure with plenty of voluptuous fruits. The final is clean and refreshing. It can be paired with charcuterie, pork roast or simply with the barbecue. Drink now or keep in the cellar up to 2028+. 100% Syrah.

  • CLAU DE NELL - ANJOU CABERNET FRANC 2016 - $59

The Cabernet Franc is fresh and lively with extreme finesse. Clau de Nell is a tiny, triumphant, biodynamic winery. It is the brainchild of some of the wine world’s most forward thinkers. The late Anne-Claude Leflaive bought Clau de Nell in 2008 and appointed Sylvain Potin as manager. The Cabernet Franc vineyard is composed of old vines, that have been grown organically for some time.

The nose is fresh and floral with bright cherry and raspberry fruit. Expressive with some grippy tannins, but they are fine-grained and work well on the background of the bright raspberry and cherry fruit. There is a lovely focus here. You can drink it now by decanting it for 20 minutes or cellar up to 2026+. It goes well with charcuterie, lamb racks, beef and cow cheeses. 100% Cabernet Franc.

  • DOMAINE CONFURON-GINDRE - VOSNE-ROMANÉE 2017 - $135

Domaine Confuron-Gindre has been established six generations ago in Vosne-Romanée and is located Rue de La Tâche. A great sign! Though they don't own the monopoly of la Tâche (Romanée-Conti does), François Confuron-Gindre owns a myriad of ideally located vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and hints in Nuits-St-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin. The Domaine has been under the radar for quite some time, but since Edouard, Francois's son is gradually taking over, the word is out. This Vosne-Romanée is a result of a blend from 10 plots in Vosne-Romanée with a total surface of 2.37 ha. Each plot brings its own character to the assembly. This wine will be aged in barrels over a period of around 18 months with 20% to 30% new barrels depending on the year.

The bouquet has bright and dense aromas of ripe dark fruit with hints of dried violet and rose petal, smoked spices. The palate is classy and penetrating, with strong aromas of redcurrant, black cherries, strong acidity and minerality that accents the pepper-and-spice stem influence, energising the black fruit and violet flavours. It can be enjoyed with game dishes like duck and quail, kangaroo, smoked meats and charred eggplant. Drink now or age till 2025+. 100% Pinot Noir.

  • CHATEAU DE BEL-AIR - LALANDE DE POMEROL 2014 - $69

Mentioned in the Cocks & Feret guides as one of the best wines of the appella- tion as early as 1922, Château de Bel-Air is situated on a sunny plateau that gently slopes southward. The historical quality of its wines and its privileged position, which guarantees the vineyard ideal sun exposure year-round, drew owner Michel de Laet Derache to acquire the property in 2011.

On the nose, Château de Bel-Air presents notes of red fruit and floral aromas; on the palate, a harmonious balance between flesh and tannins means it can be enjoyed after just a few years of cellaring. A delicate wine that is a perfect partner for refined dishes. It can be drunk now or cellared until 2022+. 73% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon.
