This Cult Napa Valley wine has tremendous complexity.

Colgin is producing exquisite wines from some of the best-located vineyards of the Napa Valley. The IX estate vineyard sources its glorious energy from an exceptional terroir on Pritchard Hill in St Helena. The vineyard is planted on a gentle to steep slope going from 350 to 420 meters above sea level with perfect sun exposure and complex, rocky volcanic soils.

Winemaker Allison Tauziet has remarkable skills turning healthy grapes from the IX estate vineyard into a wine that embodies the concentration and identity of the Napa Valley with a tremendous vibrant freshness and electric intensity on the palate. It shows endless and changing flavours on the nose of black truffle, blueberry, intense black fruit, sage oil and airy floral notes.

The palate is full, with lots of mineral tones to strengthen the length. It will benefit from two to three years cellaring before drinking it or and it can be kept in your cellar for more than a generation. 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot.

"The IX Estate 2014 impresses by its deep complexity on the nose and its vibrant intensity on the palate. It draws a very fine line between strength and elegance, bodied and vibrant. It is the mark of a truly exceptional wine."

At Colgin Cellars the vineyards are key to growing concentrated and healthy grapes, as is the savoir-faire of turning these grapes into magnificent wines. The winery has been built and completed in 2002 with one matter at heart: quality. There are no pumps at the winery as the gravity is used to transfer the must to the tanks and the wine to the barrels. The land is grown organically to enhance the fabulous identity of the land as much as possible.
