This Gevrey 1er cru "Les Cherbaudes" is a powerhouse, deep and delicate.

Having helmed the iconic Domaine Hudelot-Noellat since 2008, Charles Van Canneyt is well known among burgundy connoisseurs.  Charles is Alain Hudelot’s grandson and a very talented and skilled winemaker in his own right. Through his extensive network of Burgundy’s finest growers, Charles sources excellent grapes. By style, it’s aligned with the family wines, pure and terroir transparent.

The premier cru “Les Cherbaudes” vineyard is ideally located in the valley of Gevrey-Chambertin right below Chambertin Grand Cru and next to Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru. The nose is super-expressive. Sweet red cherry, rose petal, sage and mint are all bright and beautifully delineated. The Cherbaudes remains light on its feet, perfumed and silky on the palate, all of which make it incredibly appealing.. It can be paired with game, charcuterie, charcoaled beef or cow cheese. It can be decanted for 30 minutes before serving or cellared up until 2029+. 100% Pinot Noir.

"Les Cherbaudes" premier cru is both seductive with plenty to offer, and the upmost class on the palate. I would suggest as much drinking it from now and keep a few bottles aside for the 10 years to come.

Charles Van Canneyt buys must through an enviable network of top quality growers. His aim is to work with likeminded vignerons, who are respectful of their soil and who have exceptionally well-located vineyards. After being pressed, the wine is collected to be aged in Charles’ cellar. Maturation is undertaken in French oak barrels with 20% new oak for twelve months.
