Tasting Notes

This Rosé is refreshing and floral with hints of rose flower.

Domaine Gavoty excels at creating soulful Rosé that is very refreshing. This complex and subtle Rosé is the resultant blend of three grape varieties grown on clay and limestone.

The aromas are floral and contain restrained notes of strawberries and rose flower. The colour is a beautiful light salmon. You can pair it with spicy food, Provençal flavours (olive oil, lemon, garlic, tomatoes etc) and mixed salads. It is a great companion for Asian dishes. Drink now. 85 % Cinsault, 15% Grenache.

"The Rosé from Provence is undoubtedly a wine style you would recognise among many others. The nose is charming, teasing you with rose notes and a very subtle red fruit. The palate is driven by a fresh acidity and a delicate texture. It drinks very well and easily. By opening a bottle of the Gavoty – Rosé Grand Classique, you bring a piece of Provence in your home."

The Rosé Tradition is made out of two grape varieties. This Rosé is made using the Saignée method and the Press method. The Saignée method involves the maceration of the red grape varieties for three to six hours to colour the juice before it is pumped out of the tank. With the press method, the first juice that comes out from the pressed grapes is used to make the Rosé. The two must* types are vinified separately, then blended before bottling. The Press method brings elegance to the Rosé and structure is gained via the Saignée method.

In order the keep as much freshness as possible the wines are bottle all year long.

*Must is the term for freshly pressed juice that for a red wine contains the skins, seeds and stems of the fruit. For a white wine must only refers to the juice.
